WHO

We believe that there are many people who would love to combine their favorite activities with a new way to network

This is not a novel concept, in some ways this is just taking the way golf has always operated in business to new activities.

Some of these more obscure hobbies are not as easily advertised as golf - people don't walk around asking if you are into kitesurfing in the same way. But this doesn’t mean that outdoor activities don’t have a place in networking.

Using the "Golf" Model

If you are a golfer, and get invited to play golf for business or with someone new in your industry, it is a win-win.

You can leave a bit early, or arrive a bit late to work, and tell your partner(business and life) that it was not “just golf” but a chance to network and create a new relationship that could be beneficial down the road.

We think this blend of work and play is an important tool in forming new connections — which is why we've applied it to each of our GetOut trips..

WHY

Working from home changes our social exposure

While there are many advantages to working from home, office life is one of the few places adults get the benefit of prolonged exposure to new people, and a chance to build new relationships.

Trends today with less focus on time spent in office - and less reliance on institutions like religion - leave less opportunities to form lasting connections.

HOW

Facilitating bringing people together based on current interests

The internet has the power to bring people together, but it doesn't always do this. We can change that.

By curating groups based on outdoor interests, and the desire to meet new adventurers that also work in their industry/role/specialty, we can give people a new way to network.

We have people fill out a quick questionnaire in order to build a database to store information on their favorite outdoor hobbies/activities, as well as their industry and role. Please help us out by giving us your Feedback!
